Ketamine Assisted Psychotherapy

About

Ketamine-Assisted Psychotherapy (KAP)

An intentional path for exploring emotion, gaining perspective, and fostering change

At Humboldt NeuroHealth, we offer Ketamine-Assisted Psychotherapy (KAP) as a supportive option for individuals seeking meaningful relief from depression, anxiety, PTSD, and other emotional challenges. Rooted in both science and compassion, KAP integrates the use of ketamine—a legal, FDA-approved medication—with psychotherapy to create space for new perspectives and deeper therapeutic work.

Unlike traditional talk therapy alone, KAP uses ketamine to gently shift your state of consciousness, often softening inner defenses, quieting mental noise, and opening access to parts of yourself that may be harder to reach in everyday life. This shift can create opportunities for emotional release, increased self-awareness, and the potential for meaningful change.

While each experience is unique and outcomes vary, many clients notice reduced symptoms of depression, anxiety, and trauma, as well as a greater sense of presence, self-compassion, and emotional resilience.

Our approach is intentional, trauma-informed, and always centered around your safety and readiness. We place strong emphasis on preparation and integration—ensuring that you feel supported before, during, and after your medicine sessions.

Whether you’re participating in the full KAP process through our clinic or seeking integration support after receiving ketamine treatment elsewhere, you’ll be met with care, professionalism, and respect. We believe this work is most impactful when held in a supportive space, at a pace that honors your process.

At the heart of our KAP program is the belief that transformation is possible when people feel safe, supported, and empowered to engage with their inner experience.

The Ketamine-Assisted Psychotherapy Process

01

Connect With Us

Your journey begins by reaching out to Humboldt NeuroHealth. Call our main line and let our scheduler know you're interested in Ketamine-Assisted Psychotherapy (KAP). We’ll schedule a brief consultation with a team member to help you understand the process and offer personalized guidance on next steps.

This initial conversation will provide clarity around preparation, medical requirements, and whether KAP is the right fit for you.

02

Medical Clearance & Support

If you don’t already have medical clearance or access to ketamine, we’ll guide you through how to obtain it. During your initial consultation, we’ll provide detailed instructions and referral options for completing a medical evaluation and, if appropriate, receiving a prescription.

If you’ve already completed this step with another provider, we’ll simply ask for documentation and continue from there.

03

Intake & Planning

After medical clearance is confirmed, you’ll meet with one of our KAP clinicians for a full therapeutic intake. Together, you’ll co-create a personalized treatment plan—typically starting with a three-session model that includes preparation, medicine sessions, and integration.

Your plan may be tailored for individual or group participation, depending on your preferences and availability.

04

Begin Your KAP Journey

Your sessions will be scheduled based on your readiness and clinical fit. Whether you’re participating in individual sessions, a group cohort, or seeking integration support after receiving ketamine elsewhere, our team will walk with you every step of the way.

Each phase is held with care, professionalism, and trauma-informed support to ensure a safe and meaningful experience.
