NEUROFEEDBACK

TRAIN YOUR BRAIN TO HEAL & OPERATE TO ITS FULLEST POTENTIAL

Neurofeedback is training the brain to function more efficiently. Using EEG technology (placing electrodes on the scalp to measure electrical activity of the brain), we are able to observe the brain in action moment to moment and relay that information back to the person immediately. The brain is rewarded for changing its own activity to more desirable and healthy patterns. This process is gradual, and it applies to all aspects of brain function that we can measure. Neurofeedback is also training in self-regulation. With self-regulation training we allow the  central nervous system to function better.

With Neurofeedback, we address problems of brain dysregulation. These include anxiety, depression, attention deficits, behavior disorders, various sleep disorders, headaches and migraines, PMS and emotional disturbances. Neurofeedback is also useful for treating organic brain conditions such as seizures, the autism spectrum, and cerebral palsy.

With over 40 years of research, neurofeedback therapy has been proven to improve brain function so people are able to live their best life. Used in conjunction with other therapeutic interventions, neurofeedback gives clients a comprehensive experience with the best outcome possible.

Give us a call to discuss whether you might be a good candidate for neurofeedback, and if so, we will put you on our wait list.

More about Neurofeedback.

STEP 1

Give us a call to be added to the waiting list. We’ll ask you  few questions to learn more about your story and how what form of therapy would best support your needs.

STEP 2

Based on your needs, we will assign a clinician that would be a good fit for you. Note: There may be a waiting period before you start treatment.

STEP 3

After your first session, we will come up with a treatment plan to best support your path to healing.

Neurofeedback FAQ

Neurofeedback FAQ

What is Neurofeedback?

Neurofeedback is direct training of brain function, by which the brain learns to function more efficiently. We observe the brain in action from moment to moment. We show that information back to the client through a software program on a TV screen, which rewards the brain for changing its own activity to more appropriate patterns. This is a gradual learning process. It applies to any aspect of brain function that we can measure. It is simply biofeedback applied to the brain directly.

What problems or issues can neurofeedback help with?

Neurofeedback addresses problems where the brain isn’t able to function as desired. Clients come to us with a variety of challenges, including anxiety-depression spectrum, attention deficits, behavior disorders, various sleep disorders, headaches and migraines, and emotional disturbances. It is also useful for organic brain conditions such as seizures, the autism spectrum, and cerebral palsy.

How Does it Work?

We place electrodes on the scalp to get a reading of brainwave activity. The equipment is then able to process information about certain key brainwave frequencies. We present this information to the person in the form of a video game or movie. The person is effectively playing the video game or watching the media with his or her brain. Eventually the brainwave activity is "shaped" toward a more desirable, and more regulated performance. The frequencies we target, and the specific locations on the scalp where we listen in on the brain, are specific to the individual and the conditions we are trying to address. Through this process, your brain naturally self-corrects, much like when you catch yourself with bad posture when glancing in the mirror and automatically stop slouching.
