Hello, My name is Leona Sousa, but I usually go by Leo.
I have experience and training working with a variety of issues and people in various settings and situations. I have worked with individuals, children, and families in a counseling environment and in school settings. I have supported people with various challenges and issues ranging from ADHD, depression, anxiety, Bipolar Disorder, trauma and more.
My therapeutic style is very much a collaborative process. I can appreciate that you’re the expert on you, and I am a guide that has access to tools and resources to support you on your journey. I am trained in Neurofeedback and pull from a variety of modalities such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction, Internal Family Systems Therapy to name a few of my favorites. My personal approach is based in cultural sensitivity, respect for inherent cultural knowledge, person focused, and trauma informed. I believe that there is an unending well of healing within our own minds, bodies and culture. Healing begins when we first learn to listen and learn how to respond instead of react.
